Step-by-Step Guide

How to integrate

Follow these Carrd-specific instructions

1

Note: Carrd doesn't support custom form actions

Carrd forms can only submit to Carrd's own backend. You cannot point them to external endpoints like Waitlister.

Pro tip
This is a Carrd limitation, not a Waitlister limitation.
2

Why the embed method is perfect

The embed method is actually ideal for Carrd:
• Simpler than dealing with forms
• Better design control
• No Carrd form submission limits
• Works on free plan (once you have Pro for custom code)
• Automatic mobile responsiveness

Pro tip
Don't fight against Carrd - embrace the embed method!
3

Alternative: Use Carrd forms + Zapier (not recommended)

Technically you could:
1. Use Carrd forms to submit to Carrd
2. Use Zapier to forward to Waitlister API

But this is complex, requires paid Zapier, and the embed method is easier.

Pro tip
Seriously, just use the embed method. It takes 5 minutes.
4

The embed method is the way

Click the "Embeddable widget" tab above for the simple, recommended setup. You'll be done in minutes.

Pro tip
Every successful Carrd + Waitlister integration uses the embed method.

Troubleshooting

Common issues & solutions

Quick fixes for Carrd-specific problems

Embed elements require Carrd Pro. If you're on the free plan, upgrade to Pro at carrd.co/pricing ($19/year for 3 sites). Pro unlocks custom code, embeds, and more features.

Check that you selected "Code" embed type (not "URL"). Verify the script tag and div are both in the code editor. Click Publish - changes don't appear until published.

Adjust the data-height value in your embed code (try 400px, 450px, or 500px). Also adjust the Embed element's height setting in Carrd. Preview to find the perfect fit.

Add inline style to the div: style="max-width: 600px; margin: 0 auto;". Also set Embed element position to "Center" in settings.

Ensure the script tag is in the embed code BEFORE the div. Both must be in the same embed element. Check browser console for loading errors.

Go to Waitlister dashboard → Form → Editor and customize colors/fonts. Match Carrd's clean, minimal aesthetic. Use your Carrd template's color scheme.

In Embed element settings, set Style to "Default" or "None". Remove any custom styling that might conflict. Keep it simple.

Only include the script tag ONCE (in the first embed). Other embeds can just have the div without the script. Or use one embed for the form.

Both Carrd and Waitlister are mobile-responsive by default. Check that you didn't set fixed widths. Use max-width instead of width for better mobile behavior.

After connecting custom domain in Carrd, add it to Waitlister's whitelisted domains (Settings → Configure). Wait for DNS propagation (can take 24-48 hours).

FAQ

Common questions

About Carrd integration

Yes, custom code blocks require Carrd Pro. It's only $19/year for 3 sites (or $49/year unlimited). Pro also unlocks custom domains, forms, and other features essential for professional sites.

No, the free plan doesn't support custom code/embed elements. You must upgrade to Pro. However, Pro is very affordable at $19/year - cheaper than most other platforms.

Technically unlimited, but Carrd sites are one-page by design. Most users add one waitlist form per site. For multiple products, create multiple Carrd sites (Pro gives you 3 or unlimited).

Yes! Works with all Carrd templates. Choose any template, customize it, then add the embed element anywhere. The waitlist form adapts to your chosen design.

Yes! Customize colors, fonts, button styles in Waitlister dashboard to match your Carrd site. While you can't edit it directly in Carrd, the dashboard gives you full design control.

Yes! Connect your custom domain in Carrd Pro, then add that domain to Waitlister's whitelisted domains. Everything works seamlessly with custom domains.

Carrd sites are fast and clean - good for SEO basics. Add proper meta titles, descriptions, and headings in Carrd settings. For serious SEO, consider a multi-page platform, but Carrd is fine for simple landing pages.

Yes! With Pro unlimited, create multiple Carrd sites with different designs, each with a waitlist form. Send traffic to different URLs and compare signup rates in Waitlister analytics.

Common pattern: Build in public on Twitter → Link to Carrd waitlist page in bio → Collect interested users → Launch to waitlist → Product Hunt → Convert waitlist to customers. Fast, simple, effective.

The Embed element is designed for custom code. Don't try to put it in text blocks or other elements - it won't work. Use the dedicated Embed element for best results.

Carrd is web-based, no mobile app. But sites built with Carrd are automatically mobile-responsive, so they look great when visitors view them on phones.

Perfect! Many Product Hunt launches use Carrd + Waitlister. Simple one-page site explaining the product, waitlist to capture interested users, then follow up post-launch for conversions.
